Lenina Street is one of the central and oldest streets in Grodno, formed in the 19th century; it is approximately 1.5 km long. It is unique for its rich history of renaming: originally emerging as Sofiyskaya, it was successively called Zelyonaya, Pilsudskiego, Kommunisticheskaya, finally receiving its current name in the late 1940s.

The true gem of the street is its architecture. Genuine Art Nouveau masterpieces are located here: the former Peasant Land Bank (building No. 9) from 1913 with its recognizable dome, and the house of Dr. Talheim (No. 22) from 1911, resembling a fairytale tower with a turret. The tenement house No. 13 built in 1900 has also been preserved; all these buildings are designated as historical and cultural heritage sites of Belarus.

The street is closely associated with famous personalities. Czesław Niemen — future legend of Polish music — studied in the late 1950s at building No. 4 (now the Humanities College of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno). In the courtyard of building No. 19, a unique two-handed 14th-century sword was discovered in 1931, now kept in a museum.
